Rice Labyrinth

Watercolor on paper. Aerial view of topographical rice fields near Sacramento, CA . This type of rice growing is changing as more farmers changing to laser leveling. It allows the fields to be plowed with more precision, allowing easier flooding and better crop yield. Laser leveled fields are rectangular whereas topographical fields follow the lay of the land. I hope to preserve the beauty of this type of rice farming before it disappears.
